I bought a couple of your patterns a year or two back but haven't done anything with them...then last week ordered a couple more for my step-daughter who will be 13 in a couple months. Tonight I showed her one of the first patterns I bought and she loves it...so we've been poking through your website and came across your book. We decided to go halves in it and ordered it...then I came across your blog...we are going to have so much fun making up some of these patterns! She's getting a sewing machine for her birthday...so I'm looking forward to where she's going to go with her sewing!

The book looks gorgeous and I'm really going to enjoy passing on some skills...I'm quite excited!!

Ok! Can I just say Wow? I have been sewing for about 5 years now. I feel like I buy every pattern on the planet. If it has a slightly different shape or concept to it, I have bought it. From European and Chinese patterns to French and American.

But having seen some of these patterns and seen the wonderful fabrics used, I have to say, Thank you! I am totally inspired again! Hi Kay!
I just ordered two of your book (one for me and one for my mom.) I will say of all the sewing books i have ordered so far, I know this one willbe the best. It should be at the front door tomorrow and I cannot wait. My mom used to sew everything- amazing little plaid pant suits for my brother (much to his dismay) hand smocked dresses for me...somewhere along the road, she stopped sewing (must have something to do with her garden) anyway, she visited a few weeks ago and after seeing my studio and reading Where Women Create, she got re-inspired. So I've ordered your book for her to get her back on the pah of sewing inspiration. Should be perfect! I cannot wait to see it!

Kay,
I have just purchased one of your purse patterns- McCalls 6045.
This is my first time endeavoring on making a purse and I have a question. For lining- can I use lining material or do I need to use cotton quilting material?
Thanks for your help- Angie B.

Just found your blog and I'm so excited and glad that I did. I've recently decided to go through the list of clothing I need and sew it rather than purchase it from the store, and this book would be a great way to help me accomplish that! Those pictures sure do have my excited about the possibility of it.

Not only would this book save my life it would save the lives of those around me who have to suffer through my current attire on a daily basis - ha! Beautiful stuff and so doable. Most of the time the patterns aren't something normal people would wear. LOVE IT!!
